Strength and Conditioning

Case Study:

Assistant Strength Coach Hank McDonald was charged with finding a platform to help Hawaii modernize the strength program and improve the way the staff collected and analyzed performance data. After speaking with the TeamBuildr team at the 2017 CSCCa Conference and seeing an online demo, Hawaii decided to implement the TeamBuildr platform.

During the evaluation process, Hawaii Strength deemed the platform extremely user friendly and easy-to-learn. Athletes were seen adjusting to the digital tracking extremely well during the free trial and were excited about utilizing the software. Coach Mac says the application showed the program is taking steps to give athletes not only the best chance for success in conference, but also being on level with some of the larger universities and programs in the NCAA.

According to Hank, one of the primary benefits of Teambuildr is that it has made it much easier to keep sports coaches informed of athlete progress and work in the weight room as well as the reporting of testing data to show trends over time. For example, Men and Women's Basketball and Soccer have had tremendous success initializing the platform and two of the sports programs have also aided in supplying the 20 iPads used in the facility with the Weight Room View module.

The Hawaii Strength program no longer operates on paper and uses a centralized database that stores training and testing data for every athlete in the athletic department.
